Our Story
RuhKala was founded in 2019 in the quaint town of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, by Aashka Soni, who dreamt of bringing India’s fading handloom and craft traditions back into the spotlight. What began as a heartfelt effort to support artisans has now blossomed into a community that cherishes the stories, skills, and soulful artistry woven into every handmade creation.
At RuhKala, we celebrate a way of life that is slow, mindful, and sustainable. Our collections embody the richness of India’s indigenous crafts—many of which are struggling to survive in today’s fast-fashion era. Each piece is handmade, unique, and full of character, carrying the warmth and imperfections that make artisanal work so special.
By choosing RuhKala, you choose to stand for fair trade, artisan empowerment, and the preservation of timeless crafts. We see our work not merely as offering products, but as nurturing a movement toward conscious consumerism—where every purchase is a story of culture, care, and craft.
True to its name, RuhKala means “Soulful Art”—art that connects with your soul while honoring the heritage and the hands that bring it to life.
